MEET GILLY

Gilly has dedicated much of her life to helping others grow, both through the management development and training consultancy she once led, and through her extensive work in netball at the local, regional, and national levels.
Her true passion lies in sport, where she reached the pinnacle of her netball career in the early 1980s, representing England and being appointed as the Young England (U23) Captain. Gilly then transitioned into a Talent & Performance Coach role, contributing to performance development in England and coaching in the Middle East, where she was called upon to coach Bahrain in their annual build-up to the Inter Gulf Championships for many years.

GILLY'S JOURNEY
Leadership, Coaching and Achievement
01
COACHING
Gilly is the Head Coach for the Wycliffe College Severn Stars Pathway Programme (soon to become Birmingham Panthers), leading the England Performance Development Programme (PDP). With seven years of experience in this high-performance environment, Gilly has seen three of her players go on to achieve success with the England U17 and U19 teams.
Gilly made a significant impact when she led the first cohort of Severn Stars U17s to a bronze medal at the National Performance Tournament seven years ago, outperforming more established franchise teams. Additionally, Gilly has been involved with Hucclecote Netball Club for nearly four decades and currently serves as Vice Chair. A highlight of her coaching career with the club was guiding the Premier squad to their highest-ever finish as runners-up in National Premiership Division One. She also achieved notable successes with the junior U16 group at National Finals, helping them secure their highest-ever position—6th in the country—in her last season.
Gilly remains grateful to Rednock School and Rednock Ladies Netball Club, where her netball journey began, first as a talented player and later as a dedicated coach.
As a Level 3 Netball Coach, Gilly continues to work with a wide range of talented athletes. She is passionate about designing and delivering game-based programmes that challenge players to think critically, while focusing on both technical and tactical skill development. Gilly is excited to mentor the next generation of players and coaches to help this incredible sport continue to thrive.

DEDICATION
Gilly has made a huge impact on netball in both the South West and Nationally, not only representing England as a player, but also having been President of Netball South West as well as a Board Director, Head Coach at Hucclecote NC since 1988 and was a Regional Head Scout since 1999. After this Gilly stepped up to become an England National Selector initially at U.17, then U.19 levels and finally took on a National Selectors position working with England’s Elite ‘Roses’. This culminated in Gilly being awarded an Honorary Life Membership by England Netball which was presented to her in February 2018. Gilly was thrilled to bits on hearing this.
Gilly has subsequently trained to be an England Netball Walking Netball Host and now runs three different groups across Gloucestershire. Gilly is loving giving back to an older age group who never thought they would play this amazing team sport at this stage in life and is thrilled to see the enjoyment and friendship being made in this environment.
